Uncle Brian's Waterfall Tour

I had signed up for the Uncle Brian's waterfall tour on Saturday (September 29th). I woke up at 7:15, had an English muffin, and then waited for the Uncle Brian's tour bus to arrive. It pulled up at 7:50 and "Cousin Brad" introduced himself and everyone else who was already on the bus. Words cannot be used to describe Cousin Brad. He was the MOST talkative and energetic person I have EVER met. I'm not kidding when I say he seriously did not stop talking the ENTIRE day. It got a bit annoying at times (my dad would have HATED it hahahah), but he was nice and kept things entertaining so it was alright. Anyways, then we picked up everyone else from a bunch of different hostels. First we went to Babinda Boulders. The river was pretty but there were a TON of marsh flies, which were unbelievably annoying.

We didn't get in the water, but this sign wouldn't have stopped me if I wanted to go in! (That's Cousin Brad in the corner)

 Cane Toad!

Still never saw a Cassowary even though these signs were everywhere I went!

Next, we to went to a sliding rock called Josephine Falls. I slid down the rock twice, and then was standing in the shallow pool of water when I realized my camera wouldn't turn on. Turns out it somehow got water in the port that's not supposed to get water in it. I couldn't believe it had survived scuba diving so many times but broke in a shallow pool of water. I was devastated! Luckily, Cousin Brad had a camera with him and took pictures of us all day.

The hang loose pose has become one of my signature poses hahah

Then we took an hour long bus ride. On the bus ride we played with those mind teaser puzzle things, played games, and drew on the windows with dry erase markers. It was like no other bus ride I've ever taken! It was funny to see grown adults doing things you typically only see little kids doing! We stopped at a cute little place to get lunch. The place kind of looked like a normal house and we were the only people there except for the woman who served us lunch. We had bread, coos coos, and chicken for lunch and then hot brownies with vanilla ice cream for dessert. So tasty! Then we went to Milla Milla Falls. I was soooo upset my camera was broken!!! These falls were BEAUTIFUL! I'll get a picture from Google and post it on here. I went behind the falls with some of the people from our group including a guy named Marcel. He was super nice and took pictures of me and sent them to me since my camera was broken. Cousin Brad had explained to us that a lot of commercials are done at Milla Milla falls including shampoo commercials, so he took pictures of us flipping our hair. SOOOO cool!!!

 Behind the falls!

 Under the falls!

I love this photo!!!

From there we headed to Lake Eacham, a volcanic crater lake! As in, it was created when the volcano erupted!!!!! I thought that was pretty dang cool! Cousin Brad took us to a tree to jump off and I jumped off of it twice. Then I laid in the grass by the lake and talked to a girl from Switzerland.

I felt a little bit like Tarzan!

Next we headed to a town called Yungabarra. There was a pond there with PLATYPUSES in it!!! For some reason, I had always imagined them bigger, but they were pretty small! Super cute though, even though we could only see them from a distance! While we were there we got muffins and hot chocolate!

So adorable!!!

Then we went to a homey hostel called the Wallaby where we got changed. Then we headed back to Cairns. The ride back was crazy. Cousin Brad played music we all knew and made "Gus the Bus" dance as we danced. When we got back, Amy texted me and told me and Sam had gone to dinner. I went to Subway and then bought rice from the grocery store to put my camera in and then showered. Then Sam and Amy came back and we all talked about our day and then I read and went to sleep.

P.S. A few days later I took my camera out of the rice and it turned on and it is still working fine! Rice has now saved my camera, phone, and laptop from water damage! I'm too scared to take my camera in the water again until I get it checked out when I get back home though...
